An Epic Battle
0 Posted: February 14th, 2012So the other day we had a Peruvian family over for dinner.

Julio and Claudia and their four awesome girls lit up our house with great fun. They are a really loving and kind family and some of the first people to befriend us here in Arequipa. It was so fun hosting them!
This sweet family was one of the 3, yes three! families to invite us for Christmas dinner and as they were the first, we got to spend Christmas eve with them. We arrived at 9 pm and chatted, ate, and exchanged gifts until the wee hours of the morning. This sweet family has just showered us with kindness. We love these guys.
Kelly and I cooked a classic Italian meal for them: macaroni with meatballs, salad and garlic bread. It was very well received, but I think I made it a little bit too spicy :). My taste buds are pretty much scar tissue by now. Me love the spicy food.
The Wii took the prize as the highlight of the afternoon.

You see, I received some awesome cash for my birthday... and I decided to spend it on something that not only would I enjoy, but everyone who comes over can enjoy it with us. I bought a Wii.

It is one of the best investments I have ever made. It was an incredible hit! Everybody was playing, laughing, screaming, cheering and crying.

Ok, so I may have been the only one crying, but still it was automatic connection for the everyone.

It was an epic battle. Kelly and I didn’t fare too well against the girls, but it was still awesome. Did I mention we love this family? They are great.
So what’s the lesson we have learned today? Wii’s are just the best. Get one. Anyone can play and they bring automatic connection and interaction. Just too much fun. Once you’ve got it, invite people over to your house to eat. It’s very rad (read: great).
